I bought this camcorder about a year ago when our first baby was born, but gave up on it working with USB. Now, I'm up for messing with it again. I have installed the drivers on the enclosed CD. I've read about the XP problem, but am running SP2, and it won't let me use the patch, since it's supposedly already there. When I connect the camera, it recognizes a USB device, but says it's "unknown". Nothing I can do changes this.
I'm really wanting to put 12 mos worth of minidv onto DVD. Is there some way to capture video using the fireware option? Something...anything??? Thanks!

Don,
Thanks for the help. I have tried the newest driver, and can now get the thing to work in web cam mode, but not in moving already recorded video. I realized I need to be using 4to 6 pin firewire cable to move video. So...I tried a firewire cable, to two different firewire ports on my computer. The camera isn't recognized by my software(actually various software) when using either of them. It is an LED cable, that's illuminated until I plug it into the camera, then it goes out. I'm sure there's some significance to this, but don't know what that is. This is really getting frustrating.... Thanks for any help!!
