Hello!
I just bought a radeon 9800 pro video card and have installed it. I downloaded the latest drivers from ATI's site catalyst 4.4 or something, installed them and rebooted. This is where the problem starts... i go into screen resolution settings and try pick 1600x1024 just to see that i cant pick it!. The only option i have is 1600x1200 which is a bit too high for my monitor (cant run it in 75hz just 60). The thing is my old card a geforce4 4800 i could use 1600x1024 without any problem running at 75hz.
I have contacted ATI support but they dont really give me any info whatsoever. I ask you guys if you know if there is any way to enable ATI to run in 1600x1024 mode at 75hz. I have tried powerstrip but i cant figure out how to set the options in it, so cant get it to work that way.
Hope someone can help me out here or have had the same problem and maybe know how to solve this.

I have moved this to a forum that will get better attention for ATI issues.

1600X1024? Did you mean 1280X1024?

Nope i mean 1600x1024
I know its a *rare* mode, but i never ever had any problems with nvidia drivers, im very confused that ATI wont let me run in that mode. But for now i picked 1600x1200 even tho its horrible.. only 60hz vs 1600x1024 @75hz. Noone seems to have any solution to my problem tho, wasnt expecting it.. but maybe someone have run powerstrip and know how to configure it for 1600x1024 @75hz ?

A program call Refresh Force might be what you need. http://www.pagehosting.co.uk/rf/

I know this sounds crazy, but install the drivers for your Monitor from the manufacturer, it will tell Windows what resolutions it supports, then use Refreshforce or Powerstrip. The default WinXP drivers for Monitors might not support that resolution.
