Code: ________| || |-> pullled out...other side is pulled out too....| |_________

Is your power dying? It sounds like the monitor is not saving its settings properly. Try fixing it, then turning the pc down, then back up, if that works, then unplug the monitor, leave it for 5 minutes, and plug it back in. If it forgets, its most likely a power issue from the plug. Otherwise, it may not be reinitializing correctly, which shouldnt affect anything else.

OK, i didnt realize you were turning the monitor off. It is best to put the computer off/to sleep so that the monitor will also go to sleep. Some monitors do lose their internal settings whenever they are shut off. It is also possible that the backup battery has died on it, in which case, you have to live with it.

is it something to do with the refresh rate and resolution to lock or perhaps the monitor saving its settings?
