AA and AF settings not working with ATI drivers

I just got my X800 Pro card and was benchmarking it with various games including UT2004, Doom III, Far Cry, and Halo. I am using two resolutions to benchmark them - 1280x1024 and 1600x1200. When I switch between these resolutions I get the expected drop in performance, but when I switch to 4xAA and 8xAF the results stay the same.

I am enabling these options in ATI's 4.9 Cat. drivers. So far I have downloaded and installed Cat. 4.10 drivers but no use. I have even reinstalled Cat. 4.9 and still nothing. I have also used a driver cleaning utility to completely remove the previous files and I still can't get the settings to work.

I uhave a back-up 9800 Pro card which was working fine with AA and AF settings and now after uninstalling the X800 and reinstalling the 9800 Pro - I still get the same issue.

I also have an nvidia card and it worked fine with the AA and AF levels. Can someone tell me what's going on here and how I can fix this?
