how much better is it over its contemporaries ? viz .x2 3800+ , in multi tasking mainly consider if both r oclocked to @2,6ghz !?

depends what you use it for - the extra cache will help out heaps in encoding/dvd authoring & ripping etc. I have mine clocked to 2660mHz (check my sig for details) If you're going for an X2 the get either the 3800 or the 4400. IMO It's a waste of money getting the 4200/4600/4800 when you can just overclock to get more performance. It's hard to push these processors to the limit: I can run two Prime95's (with dedicated affinity) and SuperPi & still listen to music, download, and browse the web with a very responsive pc. Couldnt be happier

The S939 Opteron 165 would even be a better buy. About the same prime as a 3800+ but with 2x1MB L2 cache. Much cheaper as a 4400+ because of the lower multi the 165 comes with. But the 9x multi should be enough since most dual cores don't overclock to 3.0Ghz anyway.
