i had bought 10pcs of OEM procs from a supplier abroad for our planned wi-fi servers. however, the plan was shelved as the procs arrived so they lay rotting in their trays long forgotten..
now, i had this itch to upgrade my rig at home and so i bought in a mobo (asrock k8n upgrade)...to my surprise, all procs are DTR (but they have heatspreaders with ADA3000 part nos., but CPU-Z says otherwise..
what reflected on CPU-Z and mobo once started:
AMD Engineering Sample Clawhammer L2 cache - 1mb speed - 800mhz F48 SH7-CO stepping
vcore - 1.26V
now, can i adjust multiplier beyond 4x? it seemed locked at 4x)..
and why are they identified as Engineering Samples? am planning to return this to the supplier, is this much better than what i bought or was i rigged? it cost me $125 each including shipping
thanks! or is there any bios for asrock k8n upgrade that can work with this procs? i've tried the latest and its still fixed at 4x...

AMD engineering sample?!?
Try installing AMD's processor driver to see whether Windows can switch it back up from where BIOS left it. You might be out of luck because typically, those drivers rely on BIOS provided tables.
