OK this is my first post here.I am planning on getting an X2 3800+ for my build...but i have a question. i have seen both toledo and manchester cored X2 3800+'s out there....what are the main differences between the two cores?

The Toledo has a physically bigger core because it has twice the cache memory of the Manchester core. That extra cache is halved (usually because it was faulty), so it's the same size as the Manchester's.

Ok...im not abeginner to the CPU world BUT in not an xPert either. So does one have an advantage over another? is so which areas would i be likely to see this advantage?

True, just E4 or E6 stepping. Functionally, they're both the same and follow the same modified memory population scheme, which is different than pre E series cores.

I think most members would say the E6 (because it is the latest), but I haven't noticed any significant difference.
