Hi,
I just found this forum after searching for a problem with my Sony handycam DCH30E PAL.

Hopefully someone can help, when I installed the drivers the Sony Digital Audio Driver fails to install as it says "The driver installation file is missing a neccersary entry. This may be because the file was written for win 95 or later. contact your hardware vendor."

Does anybody have any ideas, I am running Win XP pro with all updates current, I have downloaded all updated drivers for my soundcard, Soundblaster live, but still no joy.

Thanks

Paul

Just hazarding a gues but I'd suspet that your best bet would to be to go to Sony's website to download the latest drivers.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply but that was the first place I tried.
I am going for the Firewire option and hope that works
Now I am just curious to find out if anybody else with the same camera has had the same problem.

[COLOR=Pink]hey! well i hope i can be of some help...

first go threw the manuels you got with ur cam...... look under trouble shooting... if there is nothing to help you there.. then look for the HELP PHONE_LINE in the manuel.. usually it is somewhere in the back.. try calling and telling them whats going on..... it could be just that your cam is not compatible with your pc...... thats why you must check if it is before you buy it.... the requirments are usually on the box that the cam came in....

hope i could help

If you have firewire, then use it, you get a much better quality.

How did you have it hooked up before?

I am puzzled about this driver you tried to install. You don't need drivers for standard av or firewire transfer - just capture software. Unless you were trying to use a usb link?
